The fact that we invest 10% of our annual income in R&D means that ICM leads the way as the company that devotes the most resources in developing new products and improving our current product range.

The ICM R&D department is now composed of 8 engineers and we are pleased to introduce to you both our two new recruits as well as our very latest product improvements.

Mr Remi Warnan graduated from the ENSEA School (National Superior School of Electronics and their Applications) of Paris. An expert in the field of power electronics, he has already applied his considerable knowledge to help enhance the reliability of the SCU286, our famous SITE-X control unit. Everyone at ICM would like to extend a warm welcome to Remi and we predict a very positive collaboration experience.

Mr Alain Paulus is not exactly what one might call a "new recruit". This is because along with our CEO, Mr Gouffaux, Alain set up the company in 1993 and developed the now worldwide renowned SITE-X serie. Following a few years spent at other companies, although still involved in high-technology applied X-rays, ICM is delighted to welcome him back as our Technical Director. Alain will unquestionably bring a lot of experience to the team and since his arrival has already managed the completion of the development of the future constant potential range, which will be introduced to the marketplace in October in Shanghai at the 17th World Conference of Non Destructive Testing.

One of Remi's first tasks involved a comprehensive study of the power board of our CCU186 and SCU286 - the "CCB204" - in relation to the latest technologies with a view to dramatically increasing its reliability. Some of our customers might have experienced some issues, albeit in certain, very specific circumstances. Following one entire month spent on every single IC and component, the result is a power board that should never experience a problem. Some of our customers have already had the opportunity to test it on site and reported back with highly positive comments.

Our software engineers are always eager to implement customer requests. For instance, they have recently added the Finnish language to the SCU286 software, ensuring a genuinely user-friendly product for our Finnish customers.

They have also added the Aluminium charts in the automatic exposure time calculation functionality as well as a memory that will keep the parameters such as kV, mA, FFD, density and material in memory between the two uses of this automatic calculation tool.
