Powered by the excellent on-site results delivered by the directional 360kV units that were launched in early 2005, ICM chose to apply our extensive knowledge to the design of a very high output panoramic X-Ray generator.
Following a thorough study period and on-site testing, we have decided to officially launch the panoramic version of the SITE X 360. This means that you will now be able to experience the best portable panoramic X-ray generator that provides the highest output (and therefore the deepest penetration capability) available to the market.
This brand new unit creates a range of new possibilities, including very long focal distances (FFD) and very big thicknesses of pipeline that are even possible to inspect in the double-wall technique.
Long Film Focal Distances (FFD)
Thanks to its incredible output, applications in the past exclusively reserved to gamma rays, such as circular welding inspection on very big tanks, can now be carried out by X-rays. Naturally, this means that all of the transportation and security problems that are usually experienced with gamma ray sources can now be avoided. Furthermore, this reduces the human evacuation times by a factor of up to ten.
Moreover, its small focal spot delivers truly outstanding image quality that has never been achieved with these kinds of applications.
Big thicknesses
Nowadays, many jobs in the Middle East involve 48" pipelines of 43.4mm thickness for highly corrosive gas transportation. And while the 300kV can complete it in 20' exposure time, the brand new panoramic 360kV takes approximately 5' exposure time.
The battery consumption will decrease by a factor 4 and the job can therefore be completed 4 times more quickly.
Extreme flexibility
Like any other Site-X, the 360kV panoramic unit can be supplied either by the mains and through the SCU286 standard control unit or by a 120V battery through the CCU186 crawler control unit and its remote control.
This generator can also be converted into a directional one through a 60°x40° diaphragm for elbows or connections inspection.
